Here we are dealing with the richest group of sports owners in the world and they are 'tax exempt.' Finally, foes of this exemption have the best opportunity in years to acknowledge 'profit making' for what it is - National Football League. With the recent alleged corruption by the IRS to prevent 'social conscious groups, especially conservatives ones, from being given 'tax exempt status' , the domestic abuse scandal, child abuse has given credibility to the call for ending the tax break for the NFL central office. Let the rich owners share part of their ticket prices and investments with our democratic mission. Congress should look the NFL straight in the eye and note the public outrage over the NFL's handling of domestic violence and child abuse issues during the ruling term of George Goodell. Penalties have been handed down on minor policies violation while a 'blind eye' was given the family violence issues. Also, many tax payers see the inequity in the 'preference' given to the NFL with its tax exemption status while they end up paying heavy taxes. Let Democrats and Republicans and Independence join together and set aright both the NFL's policies on domestic violence and its 'sweet heart deal' (no pun intended) provided it with tax exempt status.
